The American Trauma Society is pleased to offer a comprehensive virtual program which features nationally recognized leaders in the trauma community, advocacy and legislation, EMS, and beyond. Each represents a unique discipline to offer ATS Conference attendees with a robust and holistic approach to trauma, advocacy, and change within our trauma systems today.
Haley Bolyard, CSTR, CAISS
Haley Bolyard is the Lead Trauma Registrar at SSM Health Saint Louis University Hospital, an ACS Level 1 Adult Trauma Center, Missouri Level 1 Trauma Center and Illinois Level 1 Trauma Center servicing the Greater Saint Louis Metropolitan Area. She has been the lead registrar for over five years and has over seven years of experience in trauma registry. Haley is originally from south central Kentucky where her interest in trauma started at a young age. In her free time, she enjoys reading, watching tv and movies, cooking and cheering her two sons on in their various activities.

Carrie Chismarich, MA, BSN, RN, TNS, TCRN
Carrie Chismarich is a Trauma Performance Improvement Coordinator at SSM Health Saint Louis University Hospital, an ACS Level 1 Adult Trauma Center, Missouri Level 1 Trauma Center and Illinois Level 1 Trauma Center servicing the Greater Saint Louis Metropolitan Area. She has been a nurse in the field of emergency, critical care, and trauma for over 23 years. Over the past 14 years, she has held several trauma program positions including the Injury Prevention Outreach Coordinator at a Level 1 ACS trauma center, Clinical Director of Trauma Services at a state designated Level 2 trauma center, and a Research Coordinator at a Level 1 ACS trauma center. She is an experienced healthcare leader with a strong focus on program development, healthcare operations, performance improvement, and trauma research and education.

Melissa N. Hall, MSN, RN
Melissa N. Hall is a dedicated trauma nursing leader with extensive experience in trauma program development, education, and quality improvement. As the Director of Trauma Services at Atrium Health Carolinas Medical Center, she leads multidisciplinary teams to enhance trauma care, compliance, and patient outcomes. A recognized speaker and advocate, Melissa is passionate about trauma education, injury prevention, and advancing the field through leadership and mentorship.

Dr. Jane Keating, MD, FACS
Dr. Jane J. Keating is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Surgery at the University of Connecticut School of Medicine and an attending physician in Acute Care Surgery at Hartford Hospital. A fellowship-trained trauma and surgical critical care specialist, Dr. Keating completed her general surgery residency and trauma fellowship at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. She is a dedicated researcher and educator, with numerous peer-reviewed publications focusing on trauma resuscitation, surgical critical care, and injury prevention. As Associate Trauma Medical Director and Director of Research for Acute Care Surgery at Hartford Hospital, she plays a key role in advancing trauma care, performance improvement, and multidisciplinary education. Dr. Keating is actively involved in national surgical organizations, advocating for evidence-based trauma care and professional development in acute care surgery.

Jessie Levy, LCSW
Jessica L. Levy, LCSW, is a dedicated trauma support services leader with over 15 years of experience in social work, specializing in crisis intervention, peer support, and program development. As the Trauma Support Services Program Manager at Atrium Health, she oversees the Trauma Survivors Network, integrating mental health services and innovative patient-centered care. A recognized speaker and published author, Jessica is passionate about advancing trauma-informed care through education, advocacy, and leadership in the field.

Dr. Karen Macauley, DHA, MEd, BSN TCRN
Dr. Karen E. Macauley, DHA, MEd, BSN is an experienced Pediatric Trauma Program Director at Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital, where she has been leading trauma initiatives since 2006. With a background in nursing, health education, and health administration, she is dedicated to advancing trauma care, injury prevention, and system-wide improvements. Dr. Macauley is an active faculty member with the American Trauma Society and St. Petersburg College, contributing to trauma education and training. A published researcher and national speaker, she is deeply involved in professional organizations, serving in leadership roles to advocate for evidence-based trauma care and injury prevention strategies.

Jennifer McCue, RRT, BSEd, CPST Jennifer S. McCue is a dedicated Injury Prevention Coordinator at Nemours Children's Hospital in Wilmington, DE, where she has been leading injury prevention initiatives since 2012. With a background in respiratory therapy and health education, Jennifer has spent her career developing and implementing community-based trauma and injury prevention programs. She has served as Chair for Safe Kids Delaware, New Castle County Chapter, and previously chaired the Safe Kids Delaware Board of Directors. Jennifer is also a published author in trauma and injury prevention, with research focusing on bicycle safety, bedside injury prevention, and pediatric trauma.

Dr. Anna Newcomb, PhD, MSW, LCSW
Anna Newcomb is a past president of the American Trauma Society, an original architect of the Trauma Survivors Network, and a full time Education Director for Inova Health System’s surgical simulation center. Dr. Newcomb provides leadership to the Inova System regarding patient centered communication research, development, and training. While her primary educational focus began with Inova’s Surgical Residency Program, her work has expanded to include the development of communication curricula for an international audience of medical students, local nursing, and clinical technicians, and for new hospital resident interns. Dr. Newcomb received her PhD in Health Policy at the Johns Hopkins School of Public Health, but started her career as an emergency department social worker and continues that work part time.

Edward M. Racht, MD
Dr. Edward M. Racht is the Chief Medical Officer of Global Medical Response and a nationally recognized leader in emergency medical services, trauma systems, and mobile healthcare innovation. With over three decades of experience in clinical leadership, academic medicine, and public health, he has shaped EMS practices across the U.S. and internationally. A frequent lecturer, published author, and award-winning educator, Dr. Racht is committed to
advancing prehospital care and empowering trauma systems to save lives.
Mindy Stinner
Mindy Stinner is the Executive Director and Co-Founder of the Animal Park at the Conservators Center, a Burlington, NC, nonprofit educational wildlife park with a 25-year history, currently home to 24 species of animals. Mindy currently also serves as the Chair of the Feline Conservation Foundation and Chair of the Government Affairs Committee of the Zoological Association of America, leading advocacy in both national organizations.
