Partnerships Toolkit
Partnerships play a pivotal role in the development and success of injury and violence prevention programs. In today's complex and interconnected world, addressing the myriad of challenges posed by injuries and violence requires collaboration across multiple sectors, including healthcare, education, law enforcement, government agencies, community organizations, and more. By fostering partnerships, stakeholders can leverage their unique expertise, resources, and networks to design comprehensive and sustainable initiatives that promote safety, reduce risk factors, and enhance the well-being of individuals and communities. This collaborative approach not only strengthens the effectiveness of prevention efforts but also fosters a collective commitment to creating safer environments for all.
1. Begin with a simple question in mind, who do you know? Who do you already partner with to deliver IVP programs?
Some examples to consider:
- Community events you have shared resources
- Organizations you have provided educational sessions
- Small business known for community engagement
- Companies who support the community (i.e. insurance, legal, healthcare, first responders, retail, construction, sporting organizations, etc)
2. Reach out and connect!
- Connect these organizations with resource materials for NTAM and other IVP programs your hospital/trauma center offers
- Tag them in your social media posts
- Place "Proud Partner of NTAM" at their physical location, swap this out for future events
- Grow network and increase exposure to other like-minded companies
