
The TULIP Awards recognize outstanding individuals who have made significant contributions to the field of trauma care. This is your opportunity to nominate exceptional leaders and innovators who have demonstrated excellence, dedication, and innovation in their work.
TULIP Award Categories - Trauma Registry Professionals
CSTR Visionary Leadership Award - I Recipient
Honors TRPS who have contributed to the trauma registry profession through volunteer service, innovation, education, research, presentation, or publishing; mentorship; and promoted important advances in the trauma registry through quality data, patient safety, systems development, or any sphere where visionary thinking has made a difference; and presents a positive professional image for their center the the trauma registry profession.
CSTR required
One recipient: one recipient from a Level 1-5.
CSTR Trailblazing Leadership Award - II Recipients
Honors a TRP or center who has provided outstanding service as a leader by demonstrating competency within the trauma registry profession; advocated for TRPs; valued honesty, integrity, and transparency; volunteered and collaborated with their center, health system, state, national organizations or mentored others to achieve their certifications; and demonstrates excellence in preparing the next generation of TRPs for their careers.
CSTR required
Two recipients: one from Level 1-2 facility and one from a Level 3-5 facility.
Guiding Star Award - II Recipients
Honors an up-and-coming individual or center who has provided outstanding service; demonstrated competency within the trauma registry profession; volunteered and collaborated with their center, health system, state, or national organizations, or mentored others in the role of a TRP; valued honesty, integrity, and transparency; encouraged individuals to realize their full potential or have helped them find ways to achieve their best.
No CSTR requirement
Two recipients: one from Level 1-2 facility and one from a Level 3-5 facility.
2025 Nomination Guidelines
- Nominees must be ATS members or an employee of an Institutional Member
- Nominations are only acceptable via the online application. No exceptions.
Applications for nominations are open annually beginning May 1, 2025 and close on July 1, 2025. - Nominations must follow the nomination guidelines and exclusions listed below:
- Qualified applicants demonstrate significant contributions in alignment with the core tenets of the award category for which they are nominated.
- Completed applications must be submitted prior to the deadline, for consideration of award
- Individuals who have previously won a particular award are not eligible to win that award again, even if it has been reformatted. They may, however, be nominated for a different award.
- Members of the ATS TULIP Awards committee, the ATS Board of Directors, and ATS staff are not eligible for awards during their term of service, even if the service for which they would be nominated occurred prior to their term of service or employment.
- All nomination materials become the property of ATS. Materials cannot be returned.
- The nominator is responsible for assuring that all required documentation is collected for the nominee. Incomplete submissions may adversely impact the committee's ability to adequately and fully evaluate a nominee.
- Can I nominate someone who isn’t currently an ATS member? Yes, but they must be a member prior to receiving the award.
ATS strives to reflect in its membership and leadership the diversity within the United States, including race, ethnicity, gender, age, sexual orientation, special needs, and other diverse populations. ATS encourages the celebration of promotion of diversity through education mentoring, recognition, leadership, and other programs.
The ATS TULIP Awards committee will review all nominations for determination of award issuance. If none of the nominees for a particular award reflect the level of achievement expected of an award recipient, the committee reserves the right to recommend that the award not be presented. The committee reserves the right to recommend an Honorable Mention recipient at their discretion, which can be included in publications. Nominations will be selected and notification will be made to nominators in September.
