Safety Costume Contest


 

Join us this National Trauma Awareness Month by participating in the Model Safety Every Day: For A Stronger Tomorrow Safety Costume Contest. The National Trauma Awareness Month Safety Costume Contest is an opportunity to showcase your creativity and promote safety awareness through costumes that embody the theme: “Model Safety Every Day: For a Stronger Tomorrow.” To ensure a positive and safe experience for all participants, please follow these guidelines. 


 

Eligibility:

  1. Age Requirement: Participants must be 18 years or older to enter.

Costume Guidelines Safety Theme: Costumes must creatively represent or promote safety concepts, such as:

  • Personal protective equipment (PPE)
  • Road safety (e.g., helmets, seat belts)
  • Fire prevention and safety gear
  • Workplace safety or emergency preparedness
  • Motor vehicle safety

Acceptable Materials: Costumes should be family-friendly and made of non-hazardous materials. Avoid sharp objects, flammable materials, or any items that could pose a safety risk.

Appropriateness: Costumes must adhere to the following:

  1. No offensive, violent, or inappropriate content.
  2. Avoid the use of real or realistic weapons.
  3. Costumes should respect cultural sensitivities and diversity.

Photo Submission Guidelines

  1. Photo Format: Submit high-quality, clear photos of your costume (JPEG, PNG format, max size: 5 MB). You may include up to 3 photos from different angles. If submitting more than 1 photo, email additional photos to mriley@amtrauma.org
  2. Background: Ensure the background of your photo is clean and uncluttered for clear visibility of the costume.
  3. Deadline: Entries must be submitted by May 31, 2025 to be considered. 

Social Media Use

  1. By submitting your entry, you grant the American Trauma Society (ATS) permission to share your photo on ATS social media platforms, websites, and promotional materials.

Photos shared on social media will include your first name and a brief description of your costume. No additional personal information will be shared.

Judging Criteria - Costumes will be judged based on:

  1. Creativity in promoting safety awareness.
  2. Adherence to the safety theme.
  3. Overall originality and presentation.

Prizes - Winners will be announced on June 6, 2025 via ATS social media. Prizes will include:

  3. 3rd Place:

Additional Rules and Regulations

  1. Each participant may submit only one entry.
  2. Group entries are permitted; only one entry for organization.
  3. By participating, you agree to comply with these guidelines and decisions made by the judging panel.
  4. The ATS reserves the right to disqualify entries that do not adhere to the rules or contain inappropriate content.
