3,166 people died in 2017 in crashes involving a distracted driver.
- 6% of all motor vehicle crashes in the United States in 2017 involved a distracted driver.
- 24 children died in hot cars in 2019 related to multitasking/distraction.
- Distracted walking injuries are on the rise, with 52 percent of distracted walking injuries occurring at home.
- On average, a non-fatal injury crash at work that involves distraction costs the employer $72,442.
