Groundbreaking EMS Payment Reform Announced by HHS
The long awaited Emergency Triage, Treat and Transport (ET3) Model was formally announced at a press conference in Washington D.C. on February14, 2019. This reform will make it possible for participating ambulance providers to partner with qualified healthcare practitioners in an "in place" triage and treat mode, this includes tele-health and on-scene. Additionally, transportation to alternative destination sites ( doctors’ offices or urgent-care centers) will be allowed for and reimbursed under the under this CMS this reimbursement model.
