The Advanced ICD-10 Trauma Injury Coding Course powered by Trauma Analytics, LLC is designed for trauma registry professionals, trauma nurses, biomedical informaticists, data analysts, researchers, epidemiologists, surgeons, and other trauma clinicians. It provides expert-level knowledge in ICD-10 coding for trauma registries, clinical operations, and quality improvement. The course covers advanced ICD-10 coding techniques using practical real-life case studies, equipping learners to solve complex coding challenges. It aims to enhance understanding of ICD-10-CM (diagnosis) and ICD-10-PCS (procedure) coding, essential for data-driven trauma centers. By course end, users will master ICD-10 trauma coding and its impact on performance improvement, quality of care, risk-adjusted benchmarking, clinical and operational reports, and trauma research. This course includes the course tuition fee and a non-refundable course lab fee. Registration includes one month of access to 3M Encoder which includes access to AHA Coding Clinic, Clinical Pharmacology Drug Reference, Dorland's Medical Dictionary, Elsevier's Anatomy Plates, Coding Reference Plus, ICD-10-CM Coding Handbook, ICD-10-PCS Coding Handbook, and Dictionary of Medical Acronyms and Abbreviations. The virtual lab provides access to the most current electronic versions of the ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS coding books Upon completion of the Advanced ICD-10 Trauma Injury Coding Course, the learner will be able to:
1. Ensure advanced level understanding of ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS coding accuracy based on conventions and guidelines 2. Understand the operational impacts of ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS on quality improvement, patient safety, research, injury surveillance, and risk-adjusted benchmark reports include but not limited to Trauma Quality Improvement Program (TQIP) 3. Encode abstracted injury data from clinical records accurately with appropriate ICD10 codes 4. Utilize ICD-10 codes and tools to achieve reliable data for quality improvement, patient safety, research, injury surveillance, and performance monitoring 5. Maintain high reliability and accuracy in trauma ICD-10 coding for trauma center data quality 6. Evaluate treatments and monitor trauma patient outcomes and care performance indicators using ICD-10 codes to ensure optimal patient outcomes Upon completion of the Advanced ICD-10 Trauma Injury Coding Course, the learner will receive:

1. Recommended that all Attendees have completed the Trauma Analytics ICD-10 Trauma Injury Coding Course offered exclusively by the American Trauma Society (ATS) and the ATS Trauma Registry Course before taking this course 2. Required to attend pre-course technology pre-check 3. Current trauma professional interested in trauma and/or trauma registry professional responsible for clinical chart review, data abstraction, and ICD-10 coding of trauma injury data 4. High speed internet and World-Wide-Web access 5. Computer (Laptop or Desktop) with camera and Internet access is required. Dual monitors are recommended but not required 6. Capable of accessing the Trauma Analytics web page at www.TraumaAnalytics.com 8. The latest version of Windows or Apple Mac OS X operating systems 9. Ability to run latest version of Google Chrome with the ability to download files including pdf, xlsx, and zip 10. Experience with human anatomy and medical terminology

All Trauma Analytics course instructors are active trauma registry injury coders with at least one nationally recognized trauma registry certification of CSTR or CAISS and have at least five (5) years of ICD and injury coding experience or active university biomedical informatics instructors with at least RHIT or RHIA and with biomedical informatics ICD-10 coding experience. Additionally, all instructors are required to have a minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing and trauma specialty nurse certification or Bachelor’s Degree in Health Information Management.
