The Causes of Injury: The forces and injury patterns of the mechanisms that act out upon the body
ATS Trauma Program Managers and Trauma Registrars please join long time trauma program management professional Sandra Strack Arabian for a discussion on the impacts and forces behind mechanisms of injury and how they impact the body. Participants will learn about the basic concepts of energy transference and rules of motion, gain an understanding of injury patterns based on mechanisms or forces that act on the body, and will hear about the impact of understanding mechanisms of injury and how it relates to the trauma registry.
Sandra Strack Arabian MBA, NREMT, CSTR, CAISS is the Trauma Program Manager at Tufts Medical Center, a Level I ACS verified Trauma Center in Boston, MA. She is a senior adjunct faculty member at Cambridge College in Boston, MA and an independent, international consultant advising the country of Bhutan as they develop their trauma registry system. Her credentials include a Master’s Degree in Business Administration with concentrations in Health Administration and Health Informatics. She is also a Certified Trauma Registry Specialist (CSTR), Certified Abbreviated Injuring Scaling Specialist (CAISS), and a Nationally Registered Emergency Medical Technician (NREMT).
