Call for Volunteers

to serve on the

ATS Injury Prevention Committee

The American Trauma Society is seeking enthusiastic volunteers to serve on our Injury Prevention Committee.

The ATS Injury Prevention Committee is dedicated to the development and dissemination of materials and programs designed to prevent traumatic injury. The committee is comprised of nurses, injury prevention specialists, social workers and others interested in the injury prevention community.

One of the committee's responsibilities is to prepare for National Trauma Awareness Month (NTAM) each May. The NTAM Working Group, made up of ATS IPC members as well as members of the Society of Trauma Nurses (STN), researches injury prevalence and related prevention issues and develops an injury prevention agenda and programs that are then made available to ATS and STN members for rollout in March for use during the entire year.

The committee meets year-round by teleconference, and is open to all ATS members with an interest in injury prevention.

Participation Requirements Include:

  • A current ATS membership
  • Attendance at a minimum of 8 out of 12 conference calls a year
  • Active participation in NTAM planning activities, calls and and projects
  • Interest in developing programs and materials that will aid Injury Prevention efforts
  • Interest in advancing and supporting the role of the Injury Prevention professional

To Apply

Please email an interest statement and resume/CV to the ATS National Office at education@amtrauma.org.

The deadline to submit applications is Friday, February 9th, 2018.

Because the committee works as a group, the decision on each application represents a collective judgment drawn from a wide range of insightful and discerning perspectives. Appointment as a member of the ATS IP Committee is for a two-year term. The ATS reserves the right to amend committee criteria without notification based on need.
