ATS Virtual Learning: Trauma Program Management Course

The ATS Trauma Program Management Course (TPMC), is a two-day course, designed by seasoned leaders in Trauma Program Management throughout the country. It is an interactive course providing Trauma Program Managers/Directors/Coordinators, PI Coordinators, other members of the trauma program, and those interested in joining the field with the core concepts of building a comprehensive trauma program. This course is recognized throughout the trauma community as the premier course for learning the role and importance of managing a Trauma Program as well as the role of essential members of a trauma program. Each course is taught by seasoned Trauma Program experts who bring years of experience and knowledge to the trauma centers’ success.
The TPMC is offered virtually multiple times a year and in varying locations across the country. If you or your organization is interested in hosting a course at your facility, please contact the ATS Education Department at education@amtrauma.org. The course covers key concepts of a trauma program, including: Essential components of a trauma system Leadership roles critical to the success of a Trauma Program Key components of the Trauma Program Manager role Important elements of a successful Performance Improvement Patient Safety Program Planning and preparation for trauma center verification/designation Best practice recommendations for trauma outreach and education Implementing a dynamic trauma registry Important elements of the trauma budget Design process, tools, and data that will influence optimal reporting in accordance with accepted standards within the industry Key psychological and socio-economic challenges common in trauma patients Course Objectives Describe essential components of a trauma system, trauma program and psychological and socio-economic challenges in the population served. List the roles and responsibilities of the TPM, TMD, other trauma program staff and key leadership roles Identified important elements of a successful Performance Improvement Patient Safety Program Discuss the planning and preparation necessary for trauma center verification/designation Describe key components, best practice and implementation for trauma outreach, education, registry and trauma budget Discussed designing tools and data to influence optimal reporting in accordance with standards within the trauma industry Prerequisite / Co-requisites A Laptop or desktop computer with connection to the Internet Webcam High speed internet and World-Wide-Web access Quiet space to join the course Upon completion of the Trauma Program Manager Course the learner will receive The Trauma Center Association of America is approved by the California Board of Registered Nursing, Provider Number 16459 for 13.5 contact hours. CE Certificate must be retained for 4 years after date of issue. If learner does not possess an RN License, a completion certificate worth 13.5 ATS Contact Hours will be provided.
