Trauma Protocol and Updates: Solid Organ Injury 0 N. Redlinger Hello,   I am new to the role of Trauma Manager at our Level III Trauma Center and am in need of resources for a few protocols we are reviewing/updating and creating. One is solid organ injury protocol. Anyone have some evidence based research sites or protocols you could share with us? Thanks   Nate

CDM Trauma Base & Meeting Base 0 E. Hoover Dear Colleagues,     For those of you using CDM Trauma Base: 1. Are you also using Meeting Base? 2. If not using Meeting Base are you using other software to support your PIPS documentation such as case lists for peer review meetings, minutes, tracking open loops etc?     Thanks in advance for your replies.   Eileen Hoover, RN,BSN, MSN Trauma Program Manager Santa Clara Valley Medical Center San Jose, CA

Criteria for Anesthesia 1 B. Leone (Ballard) Hi Beverly,If you don't have anesthesia in-house, I suspect they're on call, correct? Check to see what your hospital's medical staff bylaws say for their arrival times, which may need to be ammended to correspond to the standard for trauma's 30 minute summons. As for the "protocols must be in place," you should probably make that a PIPS indicator and review fallouts. It can get ambiguous as to when the clock starts ticking for the 30 minutes, which is usually based on patient arrival. However, for anesthesia, you may want to incorporate into your "protocol" that such time begins when anesthesia is summoned. Bona fide answers can be obtained through cotvrc@facs.org.
