Water Safety & Possible Solutions for Your Community Programs

 

Drowning is the leading cause of unintentional injury for kids 1-4 years of age and a top cause of death for many other age groups. Parents think it can’t happen to their kids but, child development says differently. Join us for a webinar to talk about water safety and possible solutions for your community programs.

 

 

Karen Macauley, DHA, MEd, BSN, TCRN, CEN

Karen is the trauma program manager at Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital in St. Petersburg, Florida. She received both her BSN and Masters in Health Education from Pennsylvania State University. She is an active member of the Society of Trauma Nurses (STN), the Pediatric Trauma Society, and serves on the board of the American Trauma Society (ATS). Karen currently serves on the Florida Injury Prevention Advisory Council and has lectured extensively on a variety of trauma topics, including burn care, child abuse, alcoholism and trauma, and spinal cord injury. Karen is a faculty member for the ATS’ Injury Prevention Coordinator and Trauma Program Manager Course.
