Trauma Center Surveys

The program of surveys on key issues in trauma care is the second phase of development of the Trauma Center Inventory. Surveys are to be conducted among the trauma centers in the Inventory on topics selected by members of the trauma community. The objectives of the program are to collect data on current trauma center activities and practices and develop information that will contribute to improvements in trauma care.

The first TIEP survey, Organization of Critical Care Services in Trauma Centers, was developed by a group at Harborview Medical Center in Seattle led by Avery Nathens, M.D. Preliminary results of that survey are available under Reports.

Two more surveys are under development:

  • Injury Prevention and Partnership Activities in Trauma Centers
  • Disaster Planning and Preparedness in Trauma Centers, with a focus on surge capacity

Survey results will be reported back to the trauma community via this website.
