TSN Peer Visitation

Perhaps the most powerful aspect of the Trauma Survivors Network is the Peer Visitation Program, which links new trauma patients with trained volunteer trauma survivors/mentors. Peer Visitors share their own trauma recovery experience with the newly injured patients and their families, offering them a better understanding of the recovery process. In this way, peer visitors not only help newly injured patients and families, but move from the role of patient to that of empowered survivor, volunteer, educator, and patient advocate.

Please view the short video clip on this page, as one trauma survivor talks about the importance of peer visitors.

Visits from peers who have experienced traumatic injury can make a real difference in the lives of the newly injured. Click here to listen to trauma survivors talk about peer visitors.
