Ian Weston, MPP, QAS

Ian Weston serves as executive director of the ATS, leading efforts to grow and support the organization’s programs, research, and resources.  At the ATS, Ian focuses on the development of trauma systems, regionalized systems of care and resources to assist providers in the treatment of trauma patients. Prior to joining ATS, Ian served as the Director of the US-DHHS Emergency Medical Services for Children Program, National Resource Center at Children’s National Medical Center. Ian led the State Partnership Technical Assistance Team and was responsible for providing support to EMSC state programs and efforts to ensure emergency medical programs were adequately prepared to care for children. Ian previously served as Senior Director of Government Affairs and Policy & CFO for Jeffrey Kimbell and Associates, a health care/life sciences policy and lobbying firm, and as Legislative Assistant to U.S. Congressman John Sweeney (NY).  Ian holds a M.A. in Public Policy (Global Medical and Health Systems) from George Mason University and received his B.A. in Public Policy & Political Science from Syracuse University.  

 

Kathy Robinson, RN, QAS

Kathy Robinson is the Associate Director for the ATS, coordinating educational and certification programs for trauma managers and registrars.  Kathy has more than 25 years experience in EMS and emergency nursing as a clinician, government administrator, patient advocate, and health care policy consultant. Her extensive experience as a licensed registered nurse and certified paramedic includes various clinical and administrative roles at both a rural and large tertiary care medical centers in central Pennsylvania. In addition, Kathy managed multiple grants, supervised EMS training programs, coordinated the clinical research program, and was responsible for the development and implementation of EMS clinical policies, protocols, and procedures. Kathy has worked side-by-side with legislators and staff to implement critical policy initiatives at the state and federal level. Kathy understands the unique perspectives and needs of volunteer membership associations, having served in appointed and elected leadership and Board positions at the local, state, and national levels. She has authored numerous publications and has lectured extensively both in the United States and abroad.

 

Andrea Alder, BA, QAS

Andrea Alder serves as Member Services Manager for the ATS and is responsible for all aspects of membership recruitment, retention and member-services.  Andrea brings a long history for membership/program support from the Falls Church Chamber of Commerce where she served for many years as the assistant director/marketing coordinator. Andrea directed all organizational and member support efforts for the organization, including designing, developing and managing all print and online marketing materials. She was responsible for identifying and implementing strategies for increasing member retention rates and new member growth. She also has held positions as marketing consultant, operations manager, office manager, and executive assistant. Andrea received her B.S. from Virginia Tech. 

 

Gina Reistrup, BA

Gina Reistrup serves as the ATS Education and Program Coordinator.  Gina supports all ATS educational programming through the coordination and development of live, distance and web-based learning.  Gina is on hand to address any and all inquiries related to educational courses and resources.  Gina provides assistance to members with CSTR certification and recertification, as well as internal & external continuing educational credits.  Gina recently served as Program Assistant with Capitol Companies, a business management company located in Chantilly, VA.  Gina is a recent graduate of Virginia Tech, with a degree in International Studies and Spanish, with a minor in Center for 21st Century Studies.  Gina's passion for international relations has taken her to a variety of countries around the world studying different cultures and governments.  While at Virginia Tech, Gina was an active member of the VT Women’s Rugby Football Club.  

  

Julie Husk, JD

Program Coordinator

Julie is Program Coordinator for the ATS, providing support to committees and work groups.  Prior to joining ATS, Julie worked at SunTrust Bank as a trust officer in their Trust Department managing estates and trusts. She also is an attorney who specialized in insurance defense, trusts and estates, and probate administration. Julie has a J.D. degree from The University of Toledo Law School and a Bachelor of Science in Finance from Miami University. 

 

 


Elizabeth Wysocki, MS

TSN National Coordinator

Elizabeth is the National Trauma Survivors Network Coordinator for the American Trauma Society (ATS).  Her work focuses on supporting TSN Coordinators as they implement and maintain the TSN at their local trauma centers.  She provides training and education for current TSN Coordinators and also maintains TSN social media outlets and outreach along with website and database management. Prior to this role, Elizabeth served as TSN Coordinator at R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center, University of Maryland Medical Center from 2009 – 2011.  She has a BS from Western Michigan University and a MS from Towson University. 

 

 

Additional Headquarters Staff

A variety of additional staff specialists serve ATS, including a finance manager, receptionist, office manager, mailroom staff, management counsel, and special projects staff as the need arises.
