Senator rushes to the aid of trauma care system

12/20/2007

Atlanta Journal Constitution - GA, USA

Cecil Staton, a Georgia Republican, is working to improve the state's trauma care network. He continues to support Grady Memorial Hospital, despite other fellow Republicans accusing the hospital's board of poor fiscal management and hesitating to fund a bail out.

Last year, Staton chaired a committee that compiled a report that concluded the state is in a "trauma care crisis." This effort has inspired him to propose legislation creating a commission to oversee funding for Georgia's trauma care system. He is now focused on getting the legislative support needed to fund this commission.
