The American Trauma Society's – Trauma Registry and Data Council presents a Trauma Registrar Educational Webinar on Wednesday, April 6 from 1-2 p.m. EST - "Investigating Trauma Registry Mapping Issues with NTDB/TQIP Submissions" With more and more focus being placed on the quality of trauma registry data being submitted to the National Trauma Data Bank and Trauma Quality Improvement Program. It is vital for trauma registrars to understand how data submissions impact trauma center's institutional risk-adjusted benchmarking reports used for national comparisons through the TQIP program. Trauma registrars should have a strong understanding of key data points such as complications and co-morbid conditions when uploading data submission. During this webinar participants will learn about (1) the "drill down" process used by the Mayo Clinic Trauma Center, (2) the importance of investigations and monitoring trauma registry data mapping, (3) identifying ways to validate data; in particular complications and co-morbid conditions, and (4) recognizing the impact of data submission on institutional risk-adjusted benchmarking reports. This session has been approved for 1 hour of CEU credit towards CTSR Recertification in Category (III) Coding and Scoring Concepts.  Click here for more information or to register.
