At the request of our colleages at the CDC and the NHTSA Office of EMS, please see the following advisory regarding suspected Ebola cases:

EMS, Fire, Law Enforcement, 911 Public Safety Answering Point (PSAP) colleagues,

In view of the recent announcement of an Ebola case identified in Texas, as a reminder we are resending the following previously developed and distributed guidance and checklist. These documents were updated on the evening of October 1.

“Interim Guidance for Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Systems and 9-1-1 Public Safety Answering Points (PSAPs) for Management of Patients with Known or Suspected Ebola Virus Disease in the United States”

“Detailed Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Checklist for Ebola Preparedness”

You may receive this information from more than one source. This is an indication of the importance that we place on enhancing awareness among healthcare providers and the public safety community. We would appreciate your sharing these documents with your state and local partners. Remember, this is INTERIM GUIDANCE and is subject to change. We will keep you posted with new developments.

Thank you for all you do every day.
