TRAUMA NURSE COORDINATOR ? Trauma/Injury Prevention Program

Legacy Emanuel Medical Center occupies a vital role in the metropolitan area and in the region as a Level One Trauma Center with around-the-clock expertise for critical health conditions. With leading care of trauma, burn and intensive care, as well as serving as the hub for critical care transport, Legacy Emanuel is central to high-acuity care. Legacy Emanuel also promotes prevention efforts and catalyzes support for neighborhood development and growth.

The Trauma Nurse Coordinator for the Legacy Health Trauma/Injury Prevention Program will be responsible for coordinating and managing a program of community trauma prevention and trauma education/outreach. The Trauma Nurse Coordinator will work to improve community health through prevention; assist Legacy Emanuel Medical Center in meeting the requirements of trauma-specific regulatory bodies (i.e., the Oregon Health Division and American College of Surgeons) for Level One Trauma Center designation; increase community support and recognition of Legacy Health as a partner in improving community health; decrease the impact caused by preventable injuries; and increase recognition of Legacy Health as a community leader in trauma care.

The successful candidate will have trauma nursing experience, 3-5 years preferred.
Prior experience with a trauma or injury prevention program strongly preferred. Qualified
candidates will demonstrate a firm knowledge base in trauma nursing and trauma/injury
prevention concepts, as well as outstanding communication and program development
skills. Experience with community outreach and education highly preferred.

Bachelor?s degree in Nursing, or equivalent experience, required.
Masters in Nursing preferred. Current Oregon State RN licensure required, appropriate current certifications, including Basic Life Support (CPR) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), Trauma Nurse Core Curriculum (TNCC) or equivalent required.
