Coding Specialist:

Immediate full-time positions available in Health Information Management at Legacy Health. The Coding specialist Codes and abstracts medical records data completely and accurately after discharge to provide a solid database for use by Hospital Administration, Medical Staff, Trauma Services, and other internal and external users. Work produced by this person facilitates assurance of the optimal payment to which the facility is legally entitled with the lowest possible days in accounts receivable.

Successful candidates will possess the following education and experience:

? Successful completion of AHIMA approved program or other vocational training program equivalent.
? RHIT, RHIA, CCS, CCS-P or CPC certification preferred.
? Three years inpatient and outpatient ICD-9 coding and CPT coding and abstracting preferred.
? Ability to read and understand medical terminology.
