ATS recognizes
that injury prevention is a life-long process. From early childhood through
senior years a person must adopt a life-style that recognizes risks of
injuries and avoids them through safe behavior.
ATS supports education and action to implement these effective risk-avoiders:
- Wearing bicycle and other sports helmets
- Preventing driving under the influence of alcohol and drugs
- Promoting seat-belt use
- Promoting the obeyance of speed limits, red lights, and other traffic
rules
- Safe storage of fire-arms and ammunition in the home
- Teaching and promoting child safety
