Injury Prevention and Trauma Awareness Programs Introduction

Slippery when wet!
Slippery when wet!

The BEST was to deal with injuries is to prevent them in the first place.

ATS has developed a series of injury prevention programs, including the award-winning Traumaroo Program for school-aged children across the country. Traumaroo and other injury prevention efforts are described in detail on the next tab.

ATS was also instrumental in having May of each year designated National Trauma Awareness Month by President Ronald Reagan and Congress in 1988. Since then, ATS has worked with other trauma organizations to develop injury prevention and trauma awareness materials for use by our members in their communities.

Please view the other tabs in this section, as well as the the National Trauma Awareness Month tab for materials relating to this year's topic, "FALLS: Preventable at Any Age."

The following tab contains a montage of 25 trauma facts, which cycle every few seconds, that give a clear understanding of the devastation caused by trauma and the important of injury prevention.
