Chaired by Kathi Ayers, RN, MSN, NP, the Injury Prevention Committee (IPC) is an ad hoc committee of members from ATS dedicated to development and dissemination of materials and programs designed to prevent traumatic injury and disseminate scientifically based information on effective injury prevention programs.

One of the committee's responsibilities is to prepare for National Trauma Awareness Month (NTAM) each May. The NTAM Working Group, made up of ATS IPC members as well as members of the Society of Trauma Nurses, researches injury prevalence and related prevention issues and develops an injury prevention agenda and programs that are then made available to ATS and STN members for rollout in March for use during the entire year. The committee meets year-round by teleconference, and is open to all ATS members with an interest in injury prevention.
The Injury Prevention Committee is now taking on more projects, including those in the right column of this page. Committee conference call meetings will be scheduled regularly and posted here.
