The American Trauma Society is calling for abstracts and posters to be presented at its annual meeting April 27– April 28, 2007 at the Key Bridge Marriott Hotel in Arlington, Virginia. The title of this year’s meeting is, "Learning the Art of Communicating with Families of Trauma Patients to take Back to Your Hospital And Help Shape the Future of the Trauma Profession
Topics for abstracts and posters are:
- Injury Prevention: Successful Programs
- Family and Trauma Survivor Issues
- Trauma System Research
- Challenges & Innovations in Trauma Care
Deadline for Submission: March 19, 2007
Notification for Presentation: March 31, 2007
Abstracts must be submitted electronically.
For format and submission procedures:
1. General Instructions
Abstracts are to be submitted via e-mail to info@amtrauma.org as either a Word or PDF file attachment.
2. Cover Page
The cover page should include the following information in the order listed:
- Abstract title
- Names of authors
- Corresponding author’s name, address, telephone number, fax number, e-mail address
- Preference for oral or poster presentation (Final decisions will be made by the program committee.)
- Abstract category:
- Challenges to trauma care and trauma systems
- Prevention issues in trauma care
- Injury prevention problem identification and presentation of solutions
- Family and Trauma Survivor Issues
- Mode of Presentation:
Applicant must designate an acceptable mode of presentation:
- Presentation only
- Poster only
- Poster if not accepted for presentation
3. Abstract Page
The abstract should be no more than 300 words. The abstract page should include the abstract title and the abstract body only. Names of authors and other identifying information should not be included on the abstract page in order to facilitate blinded review.
Other Information:
Abstracts must contain at least preliminary results and will be judged on scientific merit, originality, importance to trauma center critical issues or injury prevention and trauma, and generalizability.
Applicants will be responsible for their own travel expenses.
